Merry X’mas Everyone!!
Firstly, I would love to wish you dear readers a Merry Christmas!!
Here’s a little throwback, back to when I was in Kyushu – or more specifically, Nagasaki. In case you didn’t know, Nagasaki is situated in the region of Kyushu.
Compared to the rest of Japan, Nagasaki has a diverse community. Thus, there’re many places of worship, of many different religions that can be found all around. There are Catholic Churches, Christian Churches, Chinese Temples, Japanese Buddhist Temples & Japanese Shinto Shrines; and if you look hard enough, I’m sure you be able to find many others!
This image above is a Japanese Buddhist Temple. The temple is called Kōfuku-ji. There’s another Kofukuji Temple in Nara, so please take not not to confuse the two temples! Now, notice the architecture and compare it to the image below. Also, note the houses behind the Japanese Temple which has the exteriors of traditional German buildings; those you’ll be able to find in many Altstadt(s) around Europe.
The picture above is also taken in Nagasaki. This is the Confucius Shrine; Koshibyo. Koshibyo has the architecture of traditional Chinese Temples as you can see, and if you look closely… Notice the background, do you see a Christian Church in the back? Hint: Find the cross!
Well… That’s about it for now! And yes, I sure as hell love my kids to death. Much more than you guys but still, at least I still love you! =P
