Rock the LM.C

What other way to “kill two birds with one stone” can be better, when you get to see two “Visual-Kei” J-Rock bands share the stage and even perform side-by-side?

We got to see SuG & LM.C together on the very same day! Personally though, the main reason I was here was for LM.C, although getting to see SuG was like an additional treat.

LM.C

LM.C is a Japanese Visual-Kei/J-Rock duo, playing a mix of electronic rock and pop, which they call “new century electrorock”.

LM.C first caught my attention when the music video for their hit single: “Ghost Heart” was aired on television.

LM.C

Below you can read more information on the band; LM.C

LM.C

LM.C is short for: “Lovely-mocochang.com”. Better known by fans as LM.C, it is the current project of Aiji (ex-Pierrot). It consists of Aiji on guitar and Maya, who used to be known as Maayatan, 雅-Miyavi-‘s ex-support guitarist, on vocals.

Many mistakes fans make; LMC does not actually stand for L-lovely M-mocoC-chang.It actually stands for “Lovely mocochang.com”, the idea was when they were introduced on french TV as lovely mocochang.com aka LM.C.

LM.C

LM.C’s sound is far from pop, with their song “☆Rock the LM.C☆” being mostly rapvocals with guitar (like Limp Bizkit’s or Linkin Park’s Hip-Metal), while little Fat Man boy has a more upbeat sound and a wild claymation PV to go with it. A lot of their songs also contains genres such as Techno and Electronic.

Watching Aiji in action reminds me so much of everyone’s beloved Hide-sama; of X-Japan.* (No pun intended here!)

History

After Maya quit Miyavi’s band and Aiji’s band Pierrot disbanded, LM.C made their major label debut in October of 2006, releasing two singles, “Trailers (Gold)” and “Trailers (Silver).”

LM.C

As 2007 began, the group came out with a third single, “Oh My Juliet.” On March 7th, they released their first EP, “Glitter Loud Box.”

They then released their fourth single, “Boys and Girls” in June of 2007, featured as the opening theme for the anime, Reborn!

Their fifth single, “Liar Liar/Sentimental Piggy Romance,” saw an October 2007 release, while their sixth single, “John” was successfully released in December.

In April 2008, LM.C released their seventh single titled “88”. The successful single was followed by the simultaneous release of albums “GIMMICAL IMPACT” and “SUPER GLITTER LOUD BOX” in November of 2008.

LM.C released their eighth single,”Punky Heart” on May 20, 2009. The release of their ninth single, “Ghost Heart” followed in November. This was the time when I actually took notice of the band!

Their following release of their second album, “Wonderful Wonderholic” has been released on March 3rd of 2010.

LM.C

In July 2011, the band’s next single; “Hoshi no Arika” was featured as the first opening theme for Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan second season. Then, In October 2011, the band’s single “The Love Song” was released as the second opening theme for the second season of: Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan. “The Love Song” was also on the ☆★Best the LM.C☆★2006-2011 Singles album.

In February 2012, their latest single “Ah Hah” was released. The band also started their worldwide live tour “-Strong Pop-“. Since then, I’ve lost touch and not heard any updates on the band.

Maybe I’m growing old or maybe, my tastes have changed. Nontheless, those were fun times, great memories never to be forgotten. Thank you LM.C!

For the fangirls, here’re some personal information on the band members of LM.C, below! Enjoy reading!

From the amount of pictures I took of Aiji, I guess there’s no need to emphasize how big a fan I was, and how much I used to admire him!
