Gardens by the Bay: Introduction

We’re were back in Singapore again!!
Singapore is urban & modern, has many aliases and one of them is known as the: The Garden City.
A visit to the Gardens by the Bay and you’ll instantly understand why!
This time, after a crazy performance by Glam rock granddaddy: Aerosmith!
The next day after the amazing concert, we visited the iconic Gardens by the Bay.
Firstly here’s a summary of the metallic gardens.
After which…
Please await our next post(s) where we cover the different sections of these wonderful gardens in detail!
Discover the largest horticultural oasis nestled in Singapore’s downtown at Marina Bay!
Opened in June 2012, Gardens by the Bay offers visitors a vibrant horticultural oasis of lush greenery and floral displays.
The Gardens by the Bay are three public gardens with a total land area of 1,010,000 sq meters, in Marina Bay. Built on reclaimed land, the three gardens of Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central started out as projects of the National Parks Board.
The Gardens has since grown to become an independently managed organisation.
The Gardens include cooled conservatories, individual gardens, event and dining spaces, connecting waterways, lakes, aerial bridges and the showpiece Supertrees, structures up to 50 meters high covered by plants.
Started our day by entering the Flower Dome and instantly got inspired by thousands of magnificent flowers and plants from the Mediterranean and semi-arid subtropical regions in this cooled conservatory.
By the war, this is where we had our lunch.
Next, we got awe-inspired by the botanical wonders of the tropical highlands in the Cloud Forest, where a spectacular waterfall and mountain cloaked in vegetation awaited us.
Finally we walked along the 22-metre high OCBC Skyway suspended from the iconic Supertrees, and admire the most ravishing scenic views of Marina Bay and Singapore’s Skyline.
These Supertrees not only provided shade and shelter during the day, but also have environmentally sustainable functions.
As night falls, we caught the dazzling display of light and sound in the OCBC Garden Rhapsody amid these impressive Supertrees to end our day with a wonderful note!
